This listing is for those of you that have an image you'd like to crochet into a blanket but need a pattern! If you have a precious photo or phrase that you'd like translated into a pattern then you are in the right place. If you an idea that needs some custom artwork, let me know! With many years experience making and designing these patterns, I have decided to offer two levels of charts for you, the MINI and the MAXI. The mini is for more experienced crocheters who purely need the graph. The Maxi has much more information, and a written word pattern in addition to the graph charts.
You will need to provide me with some information before or after you purchase your pattern. I will consult with you fully before I put picture to pattern, to make sure we have it just the way you want it.
The Pattern Pack contains
♥ A full-sized chart over several pages. You can view this on your device, or print it out as many times as you like for easy viewing! I like to put a dot on stitches/blocks I have completed, so having more than one copy is essential for me! These average out 12-15 pages. If you want it larger or smaller, let me know.
♥ A scaled down image of the chart that fits on one page for reference
♥ The written word pattern in addition to the graph.
♥ The legend with the colour images and stitch/block counts.
♥ Useful information...yarn suggestions, size guides and yarn calculators. I have a library of resources from the web and my own that will be helpful or at the very least interesting! The 'Melicraft' patterns and charts are not lessons in how to crochet, a certain level of knowledge is assumed. But I will be including links to guides and tutorials that I found useful when I was learning.
*^* What you won’t see in either pack are definitive yarn usages, yarn types or finished sizes. This is totally up to you. There are far too many variations to even contemplate documenting! The joy is you can find the yarn type that will get you the size you want using the resources provided. You can choose colour shades closest to those available in the yarn you want to use. If you want to change any of the colours on the pattern – for example, change the pale blue background on the Santa In the Snow Blanket to pink or lilac, you can absolutely do so. Where possible, I will give dimensions/colours/yarn using personal experience, or of that of my testers as and when I get the data. If you are of a mind to, I would love to see photos of completed works, with the details of what yarn you used, the size of your finished blanket and the colours you chose! With your permission, this will be used on the website and listings to enhance and advise.
Just to note, I will always use American terms, rather than UK. If no stitch count is specified I base my sizings on using DK yarn and a 4mm hook with average tension - my go-to's. Bear in mind if you are wanting heavier or lighter yarn this will affect the sizes. All sizes are approximate.
**AFTER YOU ORDER**
♥ Please email me the image you would like me to use, or let me know what you have in mind. The image should be as big as you can get it. If you want text added...I can do that! Images should be sent to the email address in my bio! Or send me a message and I will email you directly to start the consultation!
♥ Please let me know the maximum number of colours you are happy working with. Obviously the more the better, but I try to keep mine under 10 colours as I get in a proper tangle. The choice is yours.
♥ I need to know the dimensions you want. What size do you want your blanket/afghan to be? If you can give those in stitch counts for graphghans or block counts for C2C, that would be preferable - but the usual size dimensions will be fine. If you are giving your stitch counts, the blanket will come out the size you want, as you know your own tension in the yarn you like to work with. If you are giving me size dimensions, the finished size of your work will be approximate only, as tension and yarn types can make a difference.
♥ The option menus give you a choice for a c2c pattern, or a graphghan method (SC/HDC/DC) .
After you order, I aim to email you your custom pattern within 3 working days. During times of high order volume this might take longer. If so, I will let you know when we are consulting. I will send your patterns via EMAIL. This saves paper, and reduces carbon footprints during the transit process. If you have trouble accessing emails or really need a printed copy, let me know and I will make you a custom listing with additional paper and shipping costs added. I will charge at cost only. If the email address you want your pattern delivered to is different to your etsy registered address then it's vital you let me know ASAP. Otherwise, all patterns will be sent to your etsy registered email address. I will message you via Etsy to let you kow your pattern has been emailed - just in case it slips into your spam folder!
As is standard with patterns, you can sell anything you make using the patterns, referencing the Melicraft pattern is a polite gesture! **Please do not sell or share any part of the pattern, please again, refer the creator!**
